The Racing Heart

Whats the fastest living thing on earth ? Google will say its a falcon but a writer would say its the heart. Heart of the lover that beats when they meet each other. Heart of the one-sided love, heart of the child whose dad found out he was cheating or that of a criminal while he is on trial.

A heart is what is the fastest. The more excited scared you are of something, the faster it beats. If you make Usain Bolt race the heart of a man who is about to propose his crush, bolt won’t be seen anywhere near.

There have been many times in my life when even my heart raced and believe me when I say race, it was about to pop out of my mouth. The girl that made my heart race was just a simple sober one, I met online. It was a platform meant to study but study and me are like the opposites of a magnet. My goal was simple, talk to people, make new friends and grow my network.

But the way she looked at the camera, that look. It all started with that damn look. Those deep as sea eyes, the simple hair yet so elegant. No makeup on her face, and yet she could be crowned the most beautiful girl in the world. With each of her hair flip, my hear skipped a beat. Yes, it skipped a beat. She had full control over my mind and heart and was making them dance on her fingers. I gained up some courage to start a conversation with her, but I was afraid coz most of such times, thr girls are mean. I mean, she could be mean and all and yet I would fall for her again and again. But to my surprise, I hadn’t seen such a sweet and humble person in my life. She found my video from the couple of wandering strangers on zoom, and when she smiled and waved at me, was the time I knew what it feels like to be in love. It wasn’t materialistic, nor was it based on lust. It was pure emotions, that travelled through my entire body and chills down my spine. We started talking and things started to take a turn, but thats a tale for some other time and day, to let out my emotions.
